Well, as I said I already got my dot physical from a clinic at a truck stop no one told me to not before going to a company with a driving school I passed the urine test! And I said It was 8 months ago... And if they do hair test it's not conclusive or acurate after 6 so I should e fine! I had a hair cut too my hair was past my shoulders I got it cut to a little above my shoulders! Plus girls shed in the summer.. I should be fine not worried!
The urine test for the DOT physical is different than a urine DRUG screen... DOT is testing for medical reasons... Protein, glucose etc... The drug tests the hiring company gives tests for drugs.
Here's the truth. Every half inch of hair is equal to 1 month of growth. Every hair follicle test I've taken has only required an inch and a half of hair. That's only 3 months, give or take. I've went in with 6+ inches of hair and they have always used the most recent 1 1/2" of hair and tossed the rest. If you haven't done any drugs in 8 months you have nothing to worry about.

You will be fine . Usually shave from the napp of the neck. Under the hair line. You will never notice it's missing. Even if they do hair testing. But never shave your head( man or woman) because of HFT . The other hair grows at a fraction of the rate. 1 1/2 inch of hair from other locations may go way farther back. Stay clean and best of luck!
