I need face masks!

I was driving with an empty trailer, got a red light on my prepass, got pulled into scale I-40 EB at Alma, AR
I was thinking why are they stopping me, I'm empty! They pulled me onto scale, and I am shaking my head and rolling my eyes. Officer met me at my window and asked if I had a mask. I told him no, couldn't find one. Then he pulled a handful of masks out of a bag and gave them to me! Really nice officer. Might be able to stop in an Arkansas scale and ask for some if you are passing through. Thanks Arkansas Highway Patrol.

There was also a post on this site. Someone wanted to know where to best set up a table to provide masks to drivers. I don't remember which thread it was posted.

 

The masks they give you are no different than a couple bandanas
Unless they giving out n95's you better off doing that.

 

I'd google what state/area you are traveling currently and masks. Another thought. Slide by a hospital and carefully walk up to the ER entrance. They usually have them there and gloves for people who may/may-not be infected. Explain your situation and they'll probably give you several for the road.

 

I went to a local welding shop in my town and asked if they would sell me some. Worked out.

 

Just wear a bandana over your face, this is what has been told to use, mask isn't all that effective.

 

I provided all 10 of my drivers face masks, hand sanitizer, disinfectant spray, and gloves. Can’t imagine trying to provide that for 250+ drivers. I guess if they are independent contractors then that takes some responsibility off you. Still, I’d think you would want to keep them working.

What did you end up doing with the PPP? Did they go on unemployment or what happened? That’s a tough situation.
