You need to check into YRC Road Driver opportunity. I don't know about all terminals, but I am always back home in less than 36 hours. It pays reasonable and is the easiest job I ever had, not to mention respect from the office staff. I know I sound like a sales person or recruiter, but that because if every company is like YRC all truckers will take pride in their profession. I don't even know if we really have recruiters. I applied online, they interviewed me at the local terminal...

 

I know PTL not one of the best but they will probably honor your experience without training after that 6 months to a year you can move forward Abilene out of VA also. Wait for @Chinatown he will have other good opportunities.

 

Holland Enterprises isn't local/regional; it's OTR, but the rider policy starts at day one.
Probably take him to orientation and stay in the hotel.
Trucks set up right with refrigerators, satellite tv,Tri-pac APU, etc.

 

I don't think Schneider is that slow anymore. I see them passing me all the time...
