Personally I never think it's a waste of time to try for what you want. I'm a coward and I've spent the majority of my life encouraging others to do what I'm to scared to do. I'm changing that part of myself and it's due to Swift training me to drive a truck.

Yes, you'll need a letter from your doctor explaining the hernia and that it will NOT effect your ability to work. Understand though when you do get insurance that will be a pre-existing condition and won't be covered. I don't recall right off hand what the time period is for a pre-existing condition to finally get covered.

Get a letter from your doctor concerning each and every medication you're on and also each and ever condition you have and that you mentioned. The recruiter will tell you that you don't need that letter but trust me that 90% of the people find they need it. Make sure that letter says it will not impair your ability to work, lift, climb or be active.

Swift doesn't care about your cholesterol. And the only thing they'll be concerned about your blood sugar for is possible diabetes. If your letter from the doctor says you don't have it, then it should be a non issue.

They didn't test any of us for cholesterol or blood sugar. They tested us for drugs.

And make sure you sign up for your insurance the first time it's offered or else you'll have everything listed as pre-existing.

Actually yes, but........he didn't know for sure it was a hernia and didn't see a dr or tell Swift about it. We (the other students in the class) said "dude you have a hernia" Later he saw a dr.

Ok I couldn't take the uncertainty anymore and even though I appreciate everyones opinion, I'm more of a straight shooter and the only way to get my answer was to ask really the only one who's opinion counts. I talked to Millingtons wellness center today and explained my situation to the lady. She said as long as my blood pressure is good when they check it then that should be good, she said just bring in a note from my Dr. saying everything is controlled, then I explained my stomach situation to her and she said even though she couldn't give me a positive yes until she examined me but if I could bring a note from my Dr. saying everything is ok and it will not interfere with my working ability then that to should be fine. Some people think I should've just kept quite about it but I would much rather know my chances while I'm still at home then getting all the way to Millington and being sent home on the first day. I know theres still that chance but now I know I still have a chance to pass and thats all I needed. Hope this helps somebody in the same situation.
