Try Great Bay Distributing or a class B driver job (Iron Mountain or AirGas comes to mind, they pay hourly). Like Mikeeee says, you're probably going to be out of luck trying to find a driver job allowing you to be home during the day to deal with child care. You can also look at local construction jobs like with Cemex or try a local moving company. There's tons of jobs for these positions around the Tampa Bay area.

Sorry about your mother. You are very mature that I can tell. But as you already know many local companies require exp. Also your age may play a factor with these local companies.Somebody mentioned construction. Why don't you try that and in time maybe they'll let you drive one of their trks. But like any other job,you have to prove yourself before a company will let you drive for them.Maybe you can load trks.Find a job affilateled with trks and go from there. You'll get a local gig.It just takes time.

Look into industrial construction, fabricators, erectors, heavy crane, heavy civil/highway and equipment setting companies - they are ALWAYS looking for good, qualified CDL drivers to haul.

Here's a few I've worked with on projects before:

    Turner Construction (Worldwide)

    Fluor Corporation (Worldwide)

    Dycom Industries (Nationwide)

    Vecellio Group (Worldwide)

Here's a couple of crane companies in Miami:

    Harrison Crane Service

Miami Transfer Company & Florida Rigging & Crane

    Good luck and best wishes!
