I think it could just be my phone! I got one of those crapberry dumb phones! I'm gonna go phone shopping & try something different before I switch carriers

Dubuque, it's understandable. Everytime I'm at the yard I can pick up only one TV station and it's a religious channel. :)

It was thanks to both locations. I had lousy signal at that apartment, and he had lousy signal at his place too. Made for a real mess.

Its not the phone, its the carrier. I have sprint (customer serv sucks, network kina sucks .... but you roam on verizon, which has a good network). Have 2 buddies that use AT&T, one that was a sprint customer ... swapped to AT&T for an I phone, and came back to sprint because of constant dropped calls and poor call quality. I rarely chat it up with my other AT&T buddies because I cannot understand them, and our calls are usually dropped within the first 10min ... on their end.

I thought about switching to Verizon (for the network) .. but, I cant see making the switch with all the perks sprint throws into their plans for the price. I have 2 smart phones (a blackberry and an android) with unlimited everything (1400 min in plan, but with unlimited cell to cell ... rarely go over 600 min a month with two heavy phone users) and with a 15% discount I pay 120 bucks.

I have a GSM (same network as AT&T) tracphone in case of emergency where sprint/verizon network fails. I haven't needed to use it.

The phones out now are the problem. The batteries suck wind, no external antennas, and the coverage areas never match what they are billed as.

when I was with AT&T my experience would always be the exact opposite of the current advertising campaign. When the said more bars, I had bars, but no service! And the dropped calls like crazy. Been happy with Verizon past 2 years, but yes Blackberry battery life is poor.

So now that I'm home... Anyone have any cell carriers they'd recommend?

We run coast to coast. Verizon first then Sprint works for us. Our ATT phones hardly ever work.

Verizon is pretty good. I was on sprint for alot of years but since they bought out nextel it went down hill fast.

Every carrier is gonna have some dropped calls, we all know that. But I've had alot less with verizon. It never fails either... you'll be in a good conversation and it will start cutting out.

Coast to coast I have ran with teammates that had att and sprint and even one with T-inmoble. I run verizon. I can not count the times they asked to use my phone. From what I have gathered far as actually coverage and being reliable. Best to worst is Verizon, Sprint, Att, and in last T-inmoble. I call them that because if you move it drops the call lol
