No they won't fire you. They may make you pay tho. Some trucking firms now are requiring you to pay the first 1000.00 . You should always call safety first tho. I t will just be a preventable on your record .

I gotta commend you for posting on here about your mistake. It takes a man to do that. It will go on your record as a preventable because you did not goal it. Do not let that put you down. Treat it as a learning experience and vow never to make that mistake again. Good luck and I hope you do not loose your job.

If you look closer you can learn 2 things from this. That is another reason why it is not good to park at the end of a row.

You just used your "get out of jail free card". Make sure you do not do it again! It's good that the other driver was cool about it. He could have been a real D###H###! You learned an important lesson right out of the gate and you also handled it properly and with integrity. Probably why you will get a second chance. Drive safely!

Hard to do but don't sweat it. My first day for the company I'm at. I drive to the trucking company next door to us to pick up a "cage" to go over a hazmat load. Finally find the right building, no where to park a deck to get this thing. So I stop to look around, with my hazzards on, to find a place to park and find someone who knows where this thing is and what it looks like.

Find a spot, start to pull up and one of the mechanics working on a straight truck rolls right into my trailer side. Messes up the rear fender above his tail light. Puts a scuff in the aluminum rub rail on my trailer. I had to call my NEW boss and let him know what happened. I felt like garbage. Turns out there was video showing the mechanic in the wrong. But still I didn't know that 'till much later. Here I am thinking I'm going to lose my job I only started that day. After flying across the country to get the job.

It all works out. Even if they were to fire you, you just be honest with the next recruiter.

Thanks,I have already chalked it up to a learning experience,so much so I sometimes fear I look in the mirror too much now lol.
I sure as heck will be looking hard at my trailer when I turn from now on.
Looks like I get to keep my job,I get my hometime this weekend and was asked by my DM to be back at 08:00 Monday.
