For this problem they should look at the ribbon tape passthrough (riveted on the control housing under the Tecu) at the solder pins check pins at the base on the each sides for a craqued solder, not easy to see, i'm using special glasses like (Jewelry man) to inspect those solder pins, sometimes very hard to see, most of the times the two first pins each side are the solder you have to check closely. If you have high count code probably Volvo Tech Support will recommand to replace the harness anyway. Keep me in touch with the result please. Ben
Since the ribbon harness was ok Volvo did agree on pulling transmission out under one condition if they pull transmission out and find something wrong they will cover all the cost under warranty if they wont find any problems i will have to cover the cost of pulling tranny out. Will see whats going to happen
I thing this is turning in "lets start replacing parts and lets hope we get the the right one deal". Volvo is replacing Ribbon Harness and some fly wheel in the top section of tranny because its seams worn out under warranty. They just called me and ask me since the tranny is out it would good to replace the cluch because "its showing signs of ware". I told them to leave it alone because I have feeling that they are really not sure whats wrong with the trans and they just trying to replace as many parts as possible in hopes to get the right one. Cluch and everything that comes with it i would have to cover so it would be more then $5000 just in parts. I never had a single code that would point to cluch being worn out or starting to give me problems.
Just picked up my truck this is what they did: Ribbon Harness replaced, Gears for 1/R Replaced because they were rounded off, Clutch cylinder would not hold replaced,
