i have i shift in a 2010 globetrotter and it works really well , i only pull up to 22 tons , with 520 horse and i have nothing to say but itworks well

I'm planning on getting a new Volvo 670 or 780 soon.I did some research on the i-shift and Volvo motors.I'm running an '07 780 with a VED12 right now and it's been good so far for the application i use it for.Good truck but you have to be gentle with it.I drove 2 other d12 trucks both 670s 13sp eatons 3.57 rears pretty reliable trucks.But now i want to switch to flatbed from dry van and i would like to buy something with a little more power 500hp at least.From what i see d13 or d16 paired to i-shift is a bulletproof combination.At least in Europe.I get a lot of good feedback on this combo from my relatives driving in europe but i would appreciate some info and feedback from people using it here in the US.Thanks

2010 780 with the ishift is amazing. no problems from 0 - 405,000 miles. its almost like not working. perfect response and no slip or lag, touch it with your toe and it responds.
just drove my friends 2008 780 auto, but not ishift for the first time.....scary, you need to two foot it(brake and gas) due to 500 rpms of nothing and the dealer said its how they are.
so ishift heck ya! non ishift auto in the volvo nope.

Ishift is probably the best gearbox on the planet right now, D13 is great but whatever you do avoid the D16 like the plague!!! I know because I bought one brand new and that truck nearly broke me, also I have yet to meet any happy D16 owner either in Europe or the US.KB3MMX and Mlaz Bogdanci Thank this.

Don't do the D16, not reliable and dealers never have parts on hand for D16. I have 4 in 780's, never again.KB3MMX, Foxcover and Mlaz Bogdanci Thank this.
