Break downs left and right? Seems to me that Averitt should do a better job maintaining their equipment!

So here are some things i've learned at averitt. There are talks of getting rid of the flatbed division if it doesn't start changing soon. Breakdowns at averitt is caused by poor PM's from the mechanics....We have a few good shops that will take care of you and actually have knowledge in the equipment they are working on. Most do not though...I was stuck at GBO since the middle of the week with my truck because i had no power the truck would not pull a hill. They checked "everything" Replaced the computer, starter, filters, fuel pump, reset the system. They thought they had it fixed and it was finally starting to look like it was going to work. I went to CLT and picked up a load and go about an hour north of GBO and halfway up a hill on full boost she shut off and that was all she wrote. I got towed back to GBO and they pulled the motor and turned out I had two dead cylinders and apparently I've been running on one bad cylinder since I got the truck 3 weeks ago. They got me a hotel room and paid my meals thursday night and gave me 10 hours of breakdown for that. I got a call from Lyle friday morning telling me that there was a truck at GBO that was empty and that i was to get a load and drive it to JKN and there would be a truck for me. I got there and they sent me the truck number....14048 2013 volvo. So I'm in a new truck that has less than 50k on it. Maybe I will be done with the shops for a while.

maverick is a good company I almost went with maverick this year but decided to stick it out. If your going with flatbed stick with the top three leading flatbed carriers. Melton, Boyd, Maverick...you also have tmc but I haven't heard good things with them.
