Driver, in this business, that's called bad judgement!

 

Shaving will disqualify you immediately. It doesn't work. They can take a hair from any part of the body ... anywhere. Shampoos do NOT work. The drug is in the hair strand not on it and when the lab tests they literally open (split) the hair for testing. See the thread "DOT drug testing." There is a person there who used to administer the drug DOT drug tests and he will educate you on the myths (such as shaving your body, shampoos, etc.) and tell you shaving your body will disqualify you for a truck driving position and shampoos not working. Get the facts, do NOT listen to the Internet hype and myths.

 

Hair testing can validate drugs years back but labs will only attest to a 90 day window.

 

I have a question, in all seriousness.

I have shaved my head (just the scalp, not the eyebrows or facial hair) since 2003. With more and more companies now using hair follicle test, do you think I would be automatically disqualified because I shave my head?

I know they can take hair from any part of the body. My concern is that I may be unfairly stained with the brush used against those who shave the day or week before the test.

 

Kids need to grow up.. why hang with ppl like that just makes more problems. Sorry but grow up a little.. we don't need anymore kids on the road messing stuff up for the ones that are muture!

I doubt it...I mean, they could tell. If you shave your head for a long time, your scalp is (should be, at least) tanned...someone who has never shaved his head would have a pale scalp..

Why don't you just go to another company who doesn't do hair testing. It sure is amazing how these threads pop up. Got to love them. Hmmm I'm going to a company that does hair testing. So I'm going to go party with my buds who like to smoke bud. Then I'm not going to take a hit but just enjoy the second hand smoke. Ask a bunch of truckers about the test. When you know if you ask 5 truckers if the sky is blue you are going to get 20 different answers. LOL. Big guy you definitely have to make better choices bro. In this industry its all bout the choices you make. Should I jump in front of this car. Do I have enough room to make this turn. Do I have enough time to stop. Is this hole big enough to back into. Do I have enough time to get to the shipper. Should I start my 14 hour now or when I get a load. Bro in these decisions you can't always log on to ttr to get advice. So please we have all been there, but getting older. Requires big boy decisions. Have a good day.
