I feel at this time that he is looking for easy money and a way to see the country. Not saying that is bad but, we have a lot of those now and many have found out, that the life of a Professional Truck Driver is NOT what they had in mind.

Are you saying that you want a career driving, but you want to complete your degree at some point because you started it/ want it for a backup?

ill have to disagree trucking isnt easy money! so that wouldnt be the reason. Anything that allows you to be in a different place everyday while doing it solo isnt easy work. i can see the country djing also which i have seen slot through it. i like the trucker lifestyle on the road waking up in a new place doing actual manual labor rather then sitting at a desk.

    yes, correct.
trucking is really like a foundation for me to invest into my own business(Not a trucking company) and my own truck.

You won't have a lot of time to take online classes while OTR. At most an hour or two a day.
That won't get you very far.

As far as saving for a house, do you know that the average pay for truckers is around 35k per year?
And much of that will go for living on the road. It is not cheap out here.
And what you save by cooking in the truck will take away that much more time from your online classes.

You would be better off starting a career at IKEA. They have decent pay, and very good pay once you get past the basic level.
And it would give you the time to get your degree.

Driving to me, is easy money... I can think of nothing else I want to do in life, but to be a Truck Driver. If you want to drive a truck and do physical work than you want to pull a flat bed ... That is work, and not all love it, has the good and the bad.

Thank you for your service by the way. I tried to enlist in the American Military after 9/11, but they told me I was to old. I had just finished selling my business, and wasn't into anything else yet. I was really excited to go help. Funny at the time I didn't consider myself old! (32) Shoot, I was still getting carded when I'd buy alcohol.

If you are willing to put the time into it, you can make a good living.

Were you thinking of otr or local?

okay classes wouldn't work, and that wont stop me either.
nothings easy in life. a truckers salary wouldn't be my only income, so that's not a factor.
