After I got out of the service in1971,I worked in the woods setting chockers and chasing landing and whatever else they could find for me to do. then in 74 I went to Alaska and started driving truck building the transalaska pipeline haul Rd. Then It was back to the states and drove log truck for a few years till I decided to try line haul. My first line job was for May trucking. Been at it ever since.

Grew up on a farm, Dad drove truck.
Left for Army basic the day after HS graduation in 75.
Worked in a glass factory making medicine vials until layoff and Army National Guard.
Reupped for another tour in 85 ( as a tank mechanic this time, didn't really like getting shot at and blown up )
Spent the last 18 years as a CNC machinist
Just lost that job two weeks ago due to work slowdowns
Decided I'd had it with factories and start C1 driving school in Ft. Wayne In. next week then, ( if I pass), on to USA Truck for the real training
Dad said he'd disown me if I ever drove truck, but he's been gone for ten years now and the kids are grown. I've had enough of 4 walls and having some suit and tie get the credit for my skull sweat

That won't change. But the guys at the top wont take too much credit. They do take a picture of you every now and then for promos.

Before I was a driver, I worked for a nation wide recovery company (the repo man) and was a locksmith. Currently I'm not driving and back in the locksmith world till about June, then back to driving.
