If I wanted to get a Doctorate in mental health, I would work for Greyhound for a year, then write a thesis based on what I experienced.

As a rule, reviews are slanted more to the negative as people that are satisfied post less often than those who "THINK" they were wronged.

    Update:
    Thanks for the engagement, everyone!

I just received a call from Knight Transportation to do OTR dry van. The orientation is 40 minutes away from me.

    What do you guys think?

I'm one of those who had a good experience at Prime as a starter company. TNT is where you team with the trainer and make no mistake, it can suck but by the end of it I was ready to go out by myself. I would recommend if you go there, start out as a company driver after you finish training.

They'll let you lease right away if you want to, but I wouldn't do that right off the bat.

Doesn't matter where orientation is; home time will be the same.

If it were me -- it's a no-brainer....I would go with the Knight option -- IF....it is in fact a genuine offer.

Ask about the freight lanes with Knight. Short runs mean small paychecks.
If it's a dedicated run, put a pencil to it and get an idea of the pay. CPM should be only a part of the pay; the accessorial pays are the difference in a good paying job or not.

Knight "should" be a good starter company. And no Gray Dog!

    One more suggestion:

Have 2 working credit cards: one MasterCard & one VISA credit card, preferably with no annual fees.

Some places, but not very many, will only take one of these credit cards but not the other:
    1) One good example that I can think of is Costco. Costco will only take VISA credit cards, not MasterCard.
    2) Once in a blue moon, there will be a business that will only take MasterCard, but not VISA credit cards.
    3) Therefore, it would probably be to your benefit to have one of each.

Good luck to you! God bless you and your family!

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

    jaginFL Thanks this.

Problem with knight is… you will routinely be missing money out of your checks. I know from experience…
