Then I went off to college, got 2 degrees, had 2 different careers (aircraft mechanic on corporate jets and computer programmer), ran my own business, then started going through a divorce. Since the draw of the road was still there, I started driving OTR and headed out to the far corners. I don't regret it one minute and it still draws me.

I went to college to become an anthroplogist, then ended up in sales... My last gig before going to truck driving school was working at a highend Hilton in the audio/video department... Basicly I sold clients as much audio/video equipment and services as I could, then set up and ran the equipment... Got to see and run sound or lighting for some cool concerts, and got to meet some celebs... The coolest was Bob Dylan. Also got to run some lighting at an Elton John concert that was aweome...
Then I traded in my high heels and office for work boots and the open road.... -
Telemarketing, Construction- laying freshwater pipe, Roofing, Framing, Cabnet Shop and some Rod Busting. All kinds of side jobs building decks, putting up fences and cutting down trees which i probably should have stuck with.. I moved job to job and had no clue what i was gonna do! I talked to a recruiter and was about to join the navy and decided to go to school and get my CDL.
I'd say it was a pretty good move.. Better than being on a ship for six months at a time and i probably make more money! -
