Here's another SE Louisiana cdl opportunity for new grads; this one's flatbed duty:
Boyd Brothers -- hires/trains recent cdl grads -- Baton Rouge, & surrounding areas
As a new driver -- BE SURE to pass up on any offers for any lease or owner-op program. For you -- it's much too early for that.
I think they may still take you with that one accident.

I went to a non accredited driving school….

In Washington state you would have never been able to get your license without first having finished an 'accredited' CDL course/school, although it wouldn't surprise me if that's different in Louisiana. I'm also surprised employers are asking you for anything more than your license and level of experience, but have you tried just going back to your school and asking for a certificate of completion? Are you really sure they are not accredited?
Good luck.
Edit: err, one more thing. With current freight market conditions, it's been curious to me that I haven't been hearing more about driver layoffs. You may just be running up against an industry hiring slowdown, and the days of there not enough truck drivers to fill demand may be over (for now)?Last edited: May 25, 2023

While have seen some slowdown, we're pretty insulated. Yes, we have become very picky about our applicant pool and we probably reject 90% of the applications we receive each week. Most of the applications we are approving have come from those who were laid off or the companies shut down. Some are approved while still working for their previous carrier but not getting any miles or money (one actually had the facility where he parks the truck call his company to do a wellness check as they thought he might be dead in the truck that hadn't moved in 3 weeks due to no freight).
Driver layoffs = unemployment claims. Voluntary quit = easily disputable unemployment claim. The companies will starve you out (eg: the 3-week guy) before officially laying you off, because you leaving voluntarily is their goal.Bud A., born&raisedintheusa, seamutt and 1 other person Thank this. -
Couple of SAP drivers were hired by this company, so you also have a chance.
Try to apply in person or online. Just a phone call will probably result in a rejection.
