i just hope i am making the right choice...i have been repo'ing cars for the last decade or so, and really good at it. but the idiots on TV have destroyed the industry i love, letting every swinging #### with a hook think they are repo men, and it is time to change. i have realized that, really, i am a driver that works for about 3 minutes every couple of hours or so...and man, can i drive...i held a CDL"b" a few years ago, but after owning a repo company for a few years, i let it go(wish i would have never done that)...i know that driving a big truck, with a trailer, is not really the same, and i will be going to Sage for training...the county i live in, Weld Co in Colorado, pays for the training completely, without any expectation of being paid back...how can i lose??
i really do not want to be OTR, since i still love my wife, and do not want to live on the road...regional or local is where i hope to land. there is a lot of frac operators, and things like that, that i hope to get on with...i will also be trying to get tanker and haz mat endorsements...i see a lot of talk about the Tx and ND oilfields, but i also know that oilfields are exploding all over Co...any thought on the Co oilfields?? soon enough, i want to move to Fl, since my wife's children are out there, and she has 2 beautiful grand-babies, and another grandson about to happen...any thoughts on how to make a CDL "a" work out there??
had fun reaqding through the posts in this forum, and glad i stumbled into it...hope to hear everyone's input...
please stay safe, and get home to your loved ones...
