you definatly work hard for your money the pay and home time is great but do not work for the kansas city terminal they kill you and if you dont go when they call you even if you have a route they make life hell. i quit when they told me they could not gurantee me home for my daughters birth cause they had no relief drivers available.

Our outfit has good points and bad..........one thing I hate is they dont seem to know how to manage their spare drivers, leaving them without coverage a lot of times due to a call out or whatever. So they start calling other drivers with scheduled routes or even on their day off, and start moving them here and there. Like tonight I was on a good paying route, and now they want me to cover a shuttle route to Rochester, NY that I will lose close to $100 by going on. Its almost to the point of harassment, they call, keep calling regardless if your sleeping, or whatever..........and just expect you to drop everything and help them out!! This is why they pay the spares a guarantee of $1200 a week, to put up with this bull. Typical transportation supervisors that never have driven a truck or held a CDL, and have no clue WTF they are doing.
The other thing about Sygma that sucks is the loads. They used to be good when it was done by batch loading, now they do this thing called zone loading and its just a freaking nightmare. Your stops are just all over the place, stuff piled on top of the stop you need, you lose so much time now with having to move a ton of stuff around, breaking down pallets and such to find the stuff you need. What used to be 10-12 hour single routes are now 13-14 hour routes because you are always fighting a nightmare load.

Sygma Pa. is always hiring. It is Definately better to have your CDL before going there. The guys they are putting through school have to work 2 years to get out from under that one. I put in an online app. and was interviewed the next day and working 2 weeks later fresh out of school. Great money, back breaking work, home 4 nights a week and still manage to work 60-65 hours. Been there since January and was on the extra board for 6 weeks before getting a bid. Mostly Wendy's with a few Cold Stone's and Jenny Craig's and the occasional Panera add on. More decent days than crappy ones. It is what it is. Done that Boston shuttle a few times.

What brand of tractors does Sygma use? Day cab or sleeper?

Combination of both at my location. Day cabs for short ones, sleepers for team or longer hauls.

    jk47 Thanks this.

I am in Florida, trying to get into Sygma, it seems the human resources pick and choose. I got turned down for not fitting their criteria, but they could not explain what criteria I failed. Having 2 years exp, class a hazmat, the only other thing is my age??? 48?? any help how to get around this and get my foot in the door, here in Florida would be much appreciated.
