Im 42, we have a driver who is 48, so I dont see the problem there. Are you capable of doing the work, up and down ramps with a two wheeler, lots of walking?? Not sure what they mean by criteria TBH.

Yep I am in great shape and capable of handling that. I never did get an interview. The lady got upset that I asked her what criteria I didn't fit into. I just wanted to see if it was worth reapplying in 90 days. I reapplied before the 90 day time period and from what I was told if my app was in there their system it wouldn't accept another app. well, it accepted my app, so that leads me to believe she deleted my first app. Have no idea why. Wasn't rude to her. She just didn't like the question I asked her. Is there any other way besides putting app in at their kiosk? I'm have been applying to Florida office. thanks man for the help here. VHM

Yea mostly volvos here. Couple of rentals here and there of all kinds. Love taking those out because most of them aren't governed like our trucks are.
Other guy, I don't know if it has anything to do with your age. Couple of old guys who I work with.
People britch and moan where ever you go. I say it's a job and no job is perfect but IMO this is one of the better jobs I have had. I like hard work and interacting with the customers. Pay is good too. I brought home $1900 last pay period (biweekly) and I have 10 day vaction starting this Monday.
Good luck! -
NICE! You should go to Cancun or Aruba for a week. -
To be honest all I want to do is see my family, friends and my girlfriend. And I want to get really drunk! And be lazy and not do ####!

ambivalence - I take it that since I enjoy my job and I am speaking about it in a "good" manner (REMEMBER THIS FORUM IS DISCUSS YOUR FAVORITE TRUCKING COMPANY) that I must, MUST, be a "internet recruiter". That's lame.
I guess this place is bombarded with such unhappy drivers that when they see another driver speaking highly of their job they automatically think that it is a person from the office.
Another thing, last comment racial much? Most of the drivers I work with are white.
I actually have XMAS off, though. That's nice. I have to leave tonight, though. Usually I would have left last night, well, 1230AM friday morning but since all the stores would have been closed they bumped it up to the next day. Same thing for new years.
Don't be upset at me because I like my job. I mean, honestly, I haven't loved any job I have had. This is just bearable and it's good money.
Merry Xmas. -
Like I said you do get paid well but i have to agree with the other driver I think a bunch of kindergardners load those trucks I had a load that would go out on tuesday night and be home thursday with 14 stops with 8 on the first night that was anywhere from 1 to 2 1/2 hrs apart started in kc went north then east then south then back north to desmoine iowa if you figure it up with driving and deliveries it was too many stops i would have 3 min on my cadec after my last stop and usually had to leave my truck at the last stop and walk to the nearest hotel in downtown it was a crock and they also hide boxes on the bottom of the wrong pallets making you have to backtrack after your route to fix the warehouses screw up.

Crazy horse you're right. Sometimes the loads are terrible and the upper management at my location can't grasp the fact that his warehouse does a terrible job when loading.
I never said everything was perfect. -
I work for Mclane grocery dist. but used to work for U.S. foodservice. Hard work indeed thats why i'm now with Mclane. Christmas eve and most of Christmas off.Same with New Years. As for age, we've got a few guys in their 60's. Of course we don't have to climb stairs. As for pay, if you can get on a bid run with a senior driver the mid 70's are easy. A few guys have actually made in the low 100,000. I guess some people are so used to being gone from home for three weeks at a time and make 50,000. they just don't believe these jobs are out there. I'm glad to hear someone enjoy's what they do, it's a refreshing change.
