Is that a picture of you? Look in the mirror. You're the one who can't get along. Did you think that maybe I'm reacting to the way your acting? Your actions have been reprehensible.

The more you post on here the more I understand why they don't have you in contact with others. It is called personality trait. I have seen rattlesnakes with better personalities.
-
You are cracking me up!
I work around people because I relate with others. You said they don't allow you to meet people face to face. I am beginning to understand why.
-
I guess I don't understand what the problem is here working in the office.
I work for a VERY LARGE LTL CARRIER as a COMPUTER OPERATIONS COORDINATOR and never have any problems with our drivers.
THEY don't make my JOB hard at all...as a matter of fact...I may make theirs a little stressed from time to time by asking them if they have extra room on their trailers and can they take some extra freight and stop at another terminal on their destination run.
AS far as their LOGS...they do an AWSEOME JOB with their LOGS and their sheets are turned in with no problems. -
Did I say they don't allow me to meet people? What I said was that I'm contracted and never get near where the drivers are. Someone delivers boxes full of logs, and I do what I need to and when I'm done someone comes and picks up the boxes and reports. My office is nowhere near where the trucks and drivers are - in fact in most cases, I'm not even in the same city or province.
You are without a doubt the most ignorant person I've ever met. You keep slamming my personality traits while ignoring your own.
I get along well with most people the rare exception is a donkey like you.
And even you I could get along with if I thought it would make any difference, but your thrill for the weekend is trying to get a rise out of me.
Have fun.

Well good for you! I'm glad that your drivers all hand in their logs with no problems.
I'm not preaching to the converted but as someone else pointed out the bad drivers are not likely to be reading this forum.

Talk about ignorant, I can tell the difference between a donkey and a monkey!
You see the slang for monkey is chimp. Right about now I am thinking of the slang for donkey. *** I hear one nearby!

No, we generally welcome newcomers. Unfortunately, we misinterpreted the tone of your thread. And when I tried to explain, you say that I'm treating you with "suspicion and hostility"?
I don't think I've accused you of anything. I haven't called you names or belittled you. I just would like you to step back and accept that there was some misunderstanding.
Frankly, if I were a moderator, I'd lock this thread for a while. We need to cool down here... -
I do my logs neat as I can,use looseleafs and redo them to help my log checkers. Did you say you have to redo the falsified logs, that is illegal and you can be charged for that?"" , I used to work for other big companies that were on dot list being checked often by dot, they told us to initial our corrections and mistakes, but by law we had to correct them, not the clerks. That's all I know is what I have been told. If I was the checker i would have that driver make corrections or a whole new legible log,one company I worked for held our checks up until the bad logs were corrected or replaced so they could be read. It costs one of my companies 12ooo dollars by the dot fines,it was 15000,but he got it lowered to 12000. Its not a funny matter, once a company accepts your logs they pay the fines not you.

My job is data entry of what's on the logs - I don't change the logs and since my contracting business is at arm's length from the trucking companies and therefore the drivers, I don't have any way to directly make suggestions to the drivers. All I can do is write a memo when I see a new driver who is trying real hard, but just can't seem to get the hang of it.
It would be good if the companies I work for would take that approach and have the driver re-do the logs on a new sheet, but I don't think that happens here because the same drivers do the same things month after month.
Bad habits seem to come right out of school for some of them. One thing new drivers seem to do often is use the comments area as a kind of personal diary - stopped or a sandwich, had a shower, coffee break, but for days on end doesn't note where he is. I don't know about the US, but here, they're supposed to note a recognizable point on a map - highway intersection, city or town and province, or exit on a big road - every time they have a change of duty status.
One that I did this morning, used a computer, but then handed in some of his hand-written logs for the same days - and they were different than the computer ones. On the computer ones, all he marked was kicking the tires at 6:45 and then drove for 11 hours non-stop and went to bed. That's not good enough considering that I also have fuel reports showing all kinds of other stops.
The vast majority of drivers take great care with their logs and you can tell they have pride in their work.
Just as you folks have the odd shipper that you'd like to throttle, there are drivers that make us shake our heads too.
Take care, Margaret
