Margeret, whether you realize it or not, or whether you meant to do so or not, you drew first blood here. You stated that you didn't mean any insult, and not knowing you from the lady in the lake I have little choice but to accept that. I can give the benefit of the doubt there.
But notarps got it exactly right with his analogy regarding the office cubicles. You have to understand that this is a forum BY and FOR truckers. Drivers rule the roost here, and an insult where we live, whether it was real or simply perceived, will bring a firestorm of hostility, as you may have noticed. But of course the office personnel are welcome to post here.
Perhaps a better way to go about what you had apparently intended to do was to identify yourself and simply ask, "Why do some drivers' logs so unreadable"? I can tell you this much. If an officer of the law were to inspect a driver and his recent logs were in the condition you describe, that driver would be in a world of trouble.

So YOU ARE THE ONE giving us log AUDITORS a bad name?? What are you talking about? I don't understand your language at all! I mean I have been doing logs for 18 freaken years and the print out of the logs are the best thing ever
I think you are one of the witchy log auditors and the one that gives us a bad name! If you are or was my employee I would tell you "GOODBYE!".
Leave these poor guys alone, the last thing we want them doing is looking at freaken porn! They don't need coming to the log dept all woodied up more than what they already are
The computer generated logs helps the drivers! Yes they still need to enter their information, but what the hell do you mean you would rather read their handwritting. Half of them you can't read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The computer logs are the bomd! I would rather enter all the information than figure out what they are writting!!!!!!!!!

Your attitude is the one that sucks!!!!!!!!!!!! Really, I am a log auditor and you have the worst attitude! I did not approach this board in that manner and I dont think you made yourself very welcome with your approach!

Cybergal! It's all a matter of training the drivers! If a drivers needs a little guidance and needs to be told to do something different you explain why, how & why it makes the auditors job easier so the driver has a better understanding of why you are asking them to do this or that!
The point of logs is to make sure you are legal at all times! If I had a legal driver and he was using the exit # all the time, then I would be glad to hand them over to the internal dot audit rather a driver who was running illegal and using the city & state. DOT when doing an internal audit main conern is the company is not lettting them run illegal~!!!!!!!!!! The other stuff, yes we can/could get into trouble with , but that petty mile marker stuff is way off line!
