That should have not happened, if you know how to drive, then all you would need to is take the tighten test at the DMV then get a truck and take the road test

Where do you live that your license gets downgraded and how would the state know what Class of truck you drive on a daily basis to downgrade your license.

Someone gave him bad information and now he's paying the price.
He should have not downgraded his Class-A cdl. The Class-A is also good for Class-B jobs.

So if the trucks are auto you won't be going to another company unless they have autos as well. Can a driver choose auto or manual? If not it will limit you if you want to change carriers or go local won't it?

Do they have to go through training or just rent a truck to take the State Test? If they don't want an Automatic restriction then rent a Manual.

Dude you can’t rent trucks to go take a cdl. That’s a myth. You must own a bussiness in order to rent a truck and have proper insurance with the rental truck listed on it. You think truck rentals just rent commercial vehicles out to Anyone? Do you think that Penske or any rental company wants to take that kind of risk to rent out a truck to someone who doesn’t own a trucking company and isn’t listed on the insurance policy of said company? Very surprised that a trucker would still think this is something you could do to take a cdl test. If it was that easy, everyone would do it
