No one had mentioned this one; accurate pallet exchange info. If the shipper requires a pallet exchange, are we talking #1, #2, or #3 junk disposable pallets. No one wants to get taken advantage of !!
I once picked up at a shipper who just says "need pallet exchange." I show up to find the product were all on #3 junk pallets, and I had #1 pallets !! So my company took a loss, and the shipper was real happy to get rid of his junk pallets in exchange for #1 top-quality pallets. We gave him $250 in good pallets, and only got $60 for our junk pallets. I later had to sell the pallets to make more cargo room, because the next shipper needed all the floor space to hand stack the product to the trailer's roof. Bad enough he made me sell my pallets at a loss, but it took him 8 hours to handstack and load the trailer, then another 8 hours to handstack / unload the trailer at my destination.
