I dont know where this person thinks he/she is going......if the highway is under that much water, then everything else most likely is, too

    Highway Conditions

Have to keep checking. Will take a day or so after the rain stops to reopen the major highways.

    Lepton1 and DAX_ Thank this.

I-10 east and west, between McNair and Channelview is closed till the cows come home now. A barge is wedged under a bridge and has destroyed at least 2 major support pilings and one little one. You will have to stay up on higher roads.

Google map shows that 12 is closed west of Starks, LA to Vidor, TX area.
Shows I-10 closed just past you to Orange, TX and small section open, then the Channelview area where the bridge is out.

This is what the Louisiana DOT website says:

UPDATE: US 190 westbound from Merryville to the state line is open. Closures remain in place for I-10 westbound and LA 12 westbound.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that the following roads are CLOSED due to flooding on Texas highways and roadways:

    • I-10 westbound from Exit 4 to the Louisiana/Texas State Line, and
    • LA 12 westbound from Starks to the Louisiana/Texas State Line.

Motorists traveling west may take US 165 (Exit 44), US 171 (Exit 33), or LA 27 (Exit 21) to detour to I-20.

Motorists are encouraged to check the status of road conditions prior to beginning commutes by visiting www.511la.org or by dialing 511 from their telephone and saying the route or region about which they are seeking information. Out-of-state travelers can access the system by calling 1-888-ROAD-511 (1-888-762-3511).

Talk about minor roads and no way to get there it looks like. 109 is a white road. You'd have to dig out the Atlas on this one.

They are saying now 5pm CST, that it is still raining some in Beaumont and Orange area. And still under a flash flood warning.
