Friends, many of us frequent 24 in Chattanooga.
The construction going on in the split is fixing to go from ugly to downright awful.
TDOT Announces Full I-24 Closures At Germantown Exit For Essential Roadwork
The work around i intend to use (i run local here) is 153 to amnicola to 27 to 24 or battlefield to 193 to broad street to 28th st to 24
DO NOT TRY TO GO OVER 41 WITH A VAN HEIGHT TRAILER - YOU WILL NOT GET UNDER THE BRIDGE NO MATTER WHAT YOU THINK - THE BRIDGE IS JUST OVER 12’ HEIGHT AND YOU WILL NOT CLEAR IT.
TURNING AROUND THERE IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AND THE STREETS ARE VERY TIGHT.

It’s gonna be really ugly for a bit while they replace the overpass structure.
Hopefully it’ll smooth out the flow through the split when it’s all said and done.
75n into 24w is awful.
Backs up daily around 2p and don’t thin out until well past 6.
The cheat code for 75s to 24w is left 2 lanes and avoid that right lane past e brainerd. Tards come down 153 and cut over to e brainerd, and catch the ramp there, which chokes that ramp point horribly.
Most of the time, i can use a wave and blinker to slide across to that left lane to open space in the right lanes and other truckers are pretty helpful in that.
Thanks for that drivers!
This gas hauler appreciates you!!mjd4277 Thanks this. -
Definitely wise to avoid if possible. Otherwise run it at night or morning. Not nearly as congested then.Concorde, mjd4277 and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this.
