True, but you don't want to be miserable while you work either. Or maybe ya do, I dunno...

    Where are you coming from?

Either way, both rides are crap unless you're coming thru at 2-4 in the morning.

290 is heavy traffic most of the time, it can move but the real downfall is the mostly ever present backup to get on the ramp from Eastbound 290 to Southbound 294.

90 East and looping around O'Hare to 294 South is no picnic due to the 294 widening project going on. If you aren't thru there by lunch time at the latest it's going to be backed up, which won't really matter much because 80/94 across Indiana to get to 65 South has construction also, and if you aren't thru that section by 11am it's gridlock.

Weekends are better on 294 but doesn't seem to be the case on 80/94. Still all ####ed up from mid morning thru early evening going East.

Assuming you are coming out of Western Wisconsin, if it's during the day and during the week I guess I would recommend at minimum running 90 to 355 South, stay on that to 80 East just from a time to get thru perspective. If it's all jacked up going across 80/94 to get to 65 you could possibly jump off 80 and take 394 South until it loops around to US-41. Run that South approx 17 miles (I think it's 17 anyway) to 14. East on 14 10 miles will dump you out on 65 at the 220 milestick.Might not be much faster, but it's less aggravation.

Neither one is very smooth. Can't speak for the toll cost 90/294, we have transponders so I lose track of the actual cost.

Don't get use to it, the way they're shooting people around this place, at least 2 of us will probably be dead by years end.
