Look at the weather next two days in each of the cities, then consider what is coming off the Pacific today. And examine the west to what the weather will be in each of the options available to you. The one with the clearest weather is where you want to be.

It is also a time problem. A moving situation that changes. I can sit and talk about this but not provide a answer until I have had a chance to examine the weather sitaution for the routing. Ultimately, you have to be aware of what is going on now, will happen tomorrow and pending two days as well as tracking what Knoxville is expecting.

You google NOAA Hazards Map. It comes up. You can then click on ANY location and it will feed you the situation. Many areas give a weather story in winter that gives details of what is coming. Im no weather man and will never be. But I end up examining who will get ice, snow etc tonight, tomorrow and two days ahead on the routing. Sometimes as far as 5 days into the future.

Pilots routinely plan weather of all kinds before committing to a flight. Ive gotten used to planning before committing to pulling a load for a specific route.

Take a look at Cheyenne then Omaha then KC straight south east. Knoxville is 10 hours from Little Rock, Little Rock is 10 hours from at least KC-Omaha and Cheyenne is a third day into the Odgen.

We are looking to get hit with rains frontal system in Arkansas to Gulf coast Tuesday at some point. The problem is temperature profiles are already below freezing at night where we are.

Denver is expecting a bit of rain then snow about a half inch on NOAA Denver charts two days ahead. You might be able to run Denver as a option. It's not that bad by the time you get there me thinks about Tuesday. That would give you either the US 50 (Lamar towards Oklahoma... Liberal KS area) or 70 Kansas or the 40 Armarillo on the old 287 road from Raton.

You're screwed and not in a good way. I expect closed roads in SW Wyoming Monday afternoon and getting down to 70 is probably not going to provide any relief, either.

Ok then it has to be Odgen then try for Ab'que for 40 running through the woods. I forget the exact routing but the Sandia mountains range is a barrier until 40.

That's the way I'd shoot for given the incoming weather system (if his company will allow it) but he needs to run fast and long to maybe get out ahead of it by maybe Price.

A lot will depend on when he can load and roll and for how many hours.

Im still hung up on the old Raton Road down 25 past Denver towards Pueblo and Lamar aiming for Liberal.

Who else thinks Price and A'b'que is a good path?
