FYI the run went real well. Got stuck in traffic in Bronx but overall it wasn't horrible. I did learn using your blinkers in NYC means nothing. You just pretty much have to switch lanes on top of people or they'll never let you in.

I wasn't sure what the "upper level" meant last night but it came in really handy when I had to make a split second decision what to take. Just goes to show that the driver community isn't all bad and negative stuff.

This post originated Friday and here it is Sunday so I just wanted to make a point. Using a GPS has it's benefits and if you are driving a commercial vehicle, a commercial GPS is the only way to go. DO NOT use your phone or other GPS. It has no idea that you are a commercial vehicle nor your dimensions. You should have a clear understanding of where your GPS is going to take you before you start your trip. And it is also a good idea to keep a commercial atlas on board your truck just in case. No whether or not your GPS will route you around traffic. Most will inform you of a faster route and will let you choose whether or not to change routes at that moment. Coming into NYC is not a good place to be confused about your route of travel.
