Wonder what would happen if you sprayed them with Pam?
SHOJim and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -

What about butter? Not that parkay or country crock junk. Real Wisconsin butter. That should do the trick!
SHOJim Thanks this. -
Butter? Might as well rub lard on them. It'd be messy but I guarantee there would be no water on the antenna to cause ice.

Canned Spam, americanmadetrucker and dca Thank this.

tried petroleum jelly for the first time on a pad lock a month or so back in snowy freezing coditions.. its messy but it seemed to work, didn't need a hammer for the lock. of course it doesn't last and needs be reapplied.
apparently petroleum jelly doesnt freeze even so, I'm not convinced its the solution for locks tho it may help on antennas.americanmadetrucker Thanks this. -
Spray it with WD40 periodically - works to prevent ice buildup on lights, I don't know why it wouldn't on fiberglass antennas as well....
americanmadetrucker Thanks this. -
how long do you think it'll last ? -
I can't get over the fact that this stresses him out.
