It makes a heck of a sound slapping against the truck. If you're lucky it will almost be in rhythm though. :)

The stock FL antennas will come apart.

Not to mention it's loud enough that when it happen while I was running teams (I mean training....) it was loud enough to wake the co-driver (I'm sorry, I meant trainer...)

Heck, even running my daycab sometime the wind is just right and slaps the antenna hard enough to make it sound like something exploded.

For some trucks you might be able to tie down the end of the antenna to form a loop.

I had a radio repairman tell me once to be very careful putting anything on the antenna or bending it much. He said you take a big chance with increasing the SWR'S and over time they can destroy your radio's output power.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

    I can imagine it.

Have kids? Ever heard one make the same sound, over
    and over
    and over
    and over again?

I think that antena banging the window repeatedly would eventually get to me.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

Would a coat of rain-X help?

Assuming it was applied at proper temps.
