Watch the other vehicles...if there is "spray" from their tires, it is wet.....no spray, it is ice!

I'm not sure if its in the actual book, but I remember hearing or reading that if the back of your mirrors are turning to ice the road is as well... Like I said I don't remember where I saw that...

Just watch for the 4-wheelers, the icier it gets the faster they drive !!!

Watching for tire spray is good advice. But for test purposes, I think they are looking for the ice on the front of a mirror or on an antenna. At least that's what's in my book.

Out in the real world, the CB is great for road condition reports. The same with an outside thermometer. Because if you drive through a front, temps can change real quick. Watch for tire spray and you will see multiple wrecks in bad area's. That's how quick it can change. Your underware drawing up is another good indicator! :)

Look even further ahead than normal when conditions are getting to that pointe, sooner or later a 4 wheeler will be doings his car wasn't designed to do. That's usually a pretty good indicator for me. Well, that probably isn't the answer you were wanting.:biggrin_25525:

After spending so much time in north texas/texas panhandle with those triple digit days I could almost welcome some ice. Almost.

    In my truck,

the air compressor buzzer goes off to warn me of ice.

Guess it just depends on what brand of truck you drive ?
