% years ago the mill was building an ice road across the nenana river. When we do that we drill through the ice and use a water pump to build up the ice. they started walking the new D7 across, and for some reason the owner wanted to do it, so had the operator get off and walk. He also decided he liked another route other than what they had marked out better, but the ice did not cooperate. lol

It stayed under with just a piece of the blade above the ice for way over a month before they could get any equipment across to try and get it out, then cut a big block of ice out with chainsaws, to winch out. lol

    My tanker is 53.

    It was originally 45.

Boss tried to haul oil , thus the extension. But was still 100 gallons short.

That was the story I got.

45 wouldn't get the weight though. Not only was the bridge not there. Also the capacity. 6100 I think it was.

We do have a aluminum 8000 and couple 9000 tanks. I have no idea why those were made.
Not only do they not have the bridge. Being 45. They're only 2 axles. 5000 is all they can haul.

That's almost as fancy as Michigan trucks.

    Their trailers are ALL axles.

The first season was on the northern mines winter road (Tibbitt to Contwoyto Winter Road). About 85 percent of the road is over water, some of it deep lakes. The show was told they would never be allowed back on the road, so then they moved to Alaska and so on. I have no idea where, or even if, they ever broke through... I've never watched the show.

The Canadian mining industry is very big on safety (I'm sure you are quite aware of that though). I heard the reason they only lasted 1 season on the Yellowknife roads was the mining companies felt the show didn't put any emphasis on safety. Calling it the dash for the cash, making it look like they ran outlaw etc.

Season 2 on the Tuc road was my favourite. Of course anything involving Mullen is going to involve showing real trucking.
