Who funded that war of independence? Roughly half of the money for the war of independence from Britain and the establishment of the Free State came from foreign sources . The Irish economy was subsidized by remittances from emigrees to their families. Without the Irish Abroad, Ireland would have become a failed state.

You've got a point. Ya know, I think using the strategy of creating an environment so that Mexican food suppliers have to compete with each other, that's gonna be key in keeping guacamole production high, but meanwhile enchilada and fajitas sale prices at an all time low. That's good for America.

Only thing that worries me is if America decides to deport these illegal immigrants AFTER the corn chip and refried beans and Spanish rice markets stabilize, what a major void (and possibly collapse) might ensue on the Mexican food business. I image mass inflation would surely occur. Not good.

@shogun , i agree. Let's corner the market on S10 lowriders, but I don't wanna put all my eggs in one basket. I'm thinking find a way in on buying up all the Jesus's Last Supper paintings and chrome chain link steering wheels. Those that are deported.....they'll return, and when they do. I'll be waiting.

IMO every time someone crosses the border and illegally enters another country, they have pretty much just kicked sand in the face of that country, its people and all the immigrants who immigrated the legal (and correct) way.

The medical facilities in our border areas have been hit hard by these people, who get treated without cost to them. Schools too, so don't even think that they don't get services here.

I would love to see a taco truck by every truckstop and I personally would not care if it was staffed with illegals or not as long as the food was good. Personally, I am against illegal immigration but my love of good food (especially carne asada and horchata) is more important than my politics.

We can't speak on their situation. We can only take them for there word. We don't know what's in their bags of supplies. It's pretty easy for us to say, "upgrade their lives" when we are living in a privileged, free, society. We've never walked in their shoes. So we can't just say, "upgrade their lives." I'm pretty sure if they had the priveleges we have and take for granted, they would not be trying to get here

We can and should judge them on their condition, available help, and visible needs.

They are asking for emergency entrance. The only emergency they face that I can see is a looming election date. They have food, they have water, they have clothes.

I get wanting to get a better job. Apply for a Visa. That is doable in their own country. But they chose to jump 2 or 3 countries to seek asylum.

It is phony and an excuse. It is also outside the bounds of what amnesty entry is designed for.

    Not white people.
We're all lazy (read: too cool for anything lesser than 'service industry'). Welfare is easier. Sign my name a few times and BOOM! I'm in the Easy Green!!! Homie ain't putting in anything more than a 30-hour week. Got videogames that need playing. You know the struggle is real.

    *Cilantro tastes like dish soap.*

And I didn't realize we had so many Immigration Law Lawyers on the TTR..... Henceforth, I'm 'KT, Esquire'.... I will not be excluded! #metoo.

Throw in the El Camino, a lifetime supply of muscle-shirts and doo-rags and I'll 1/3'rd it with you guys.

I love stereotypes. It makes judging people effortless. Just sayin'. ;)
