ICE won't help illegals

Two points here. One, when seeking asylum, you are not allowed to "country shop." You are required to seek asylum in the nearest country free from conflict. Two, having a gang problem, poor paying jobs or a boyfriend that beats you up are not valid reasons for seeking asylum. Additionally, jumping our border is not "seeking asylum." Do it correctly or I won't take you seriously.

 

Mexico is not at war. You're twisting the meaning of "conflict." Try again.

Breaking into someone's house is one thing, entering a country is different. I need you come up with a rebuttal that is better than that.

 

Yes and your forefathers came here from England to an already inhabited land and took over. They just had no Immigration laws to stop them.

 

I see where you said it's about the laws governing our country. I tend to believe it's more about fear. Anyway as for laws, it's funny how so many people come on TTR and constantly gripe about the laws in our industry.....but we are a country that is all about the laws governing our country right? People gripe about rules and regs constantly, until it gets to this topic. Then we are supposed to follow rules. How two faced is that? So many folks on here want to tell everyone how they should live, but don't want to be told how to live.

 

So... Are you advocating for outsiders to colonize the US now because it happened 200+ years ago?

Legal immigration is not the problem - do it right and this country is happy to receive those poor, downtrodden, and oppressed. I've done the sponsorship for a woman from Veracruz and her infant daughter - it took 2 years to get her work visa and legal residency and we employed her the entire time. It was worth it. She's a US citizen now and doing well. Her daughter just graduated from high school with honors and is in college for her first semester.

Want to get serious about helping these people improve their own nations... Eliminate all aid and help for all drug users here. First world drug users are the root cause of a lot of the South American issues. I have some ideas about this, but they are not appropriate for this particular thread.

 

I would disagree. I would say most of them want to work and easily find employment in a meat processing plant, on farms or with landscaping companies or with anybody else that wants to use cheap foreign labor because there are no penalties. Until we enforce the law on employers we are going to see this again and again.
