What speed do you want to travel at?
What part of the country, region, terrain?
What’s your personal driving style? Fast, slow, easy going, speed demon?
A great spec’d trucks fuel economy can vary over 35 percent with the wrong driver.Another Canadian driver, Oxbow, Magoo1968 and 4 others Thank this. -
500 horse, 1650 torque, 10 speed direct drive, 2.64 gears. That’ll get you wherever you wanna go economically.
Another Canadian driver and 201 Thank this. -

No less than a 500hp, behind that depends on what and where. I've worked for companies that spec'd the trucks with some stupid small motor, thinking fuel mileage, but we burned those motors out in 18 months, struggling along. I say, give the driver the biggest motor so they aren't struggling up hills. Tickets are their baby.

Depends on the owner more then the motor tbh. My paccar has 455 and is still kicking at nearing a million dispite everything. But otherwise id agree.
Imo aero cab truck, 500+ horse 13 speed 1850 torque transmission, 3.55 gear ratio, 232 or smaller frame, mid roof with removable fairing 50 inch sleeper and 22.5 low pro duals is going to be about the most generic can do literally anything while getting good average mileage everywhere truck you can get. It wont excell at anything but it can do everything and will be a comfortable drive.
Otherwise if you want specifics we need specifics. One mans 400 horse 10 speed auto direct drive volvo perfect for the job is another mans boat anchor.Another Canadian driver, Oxbow, beastr123 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Personally with flatbed yanking l’d do tall 24.5’s on at least the tractor. They are rated for more weight and You WILL need the ground clearance for a lot of the places you will be delivering to.

Another Canadian driver, cke and Oxbow Thank this. -
I wonder how much mpg you'd save with a midroof.
Another Canadian driver Thanks this.
