Identity theft

I haven't been hacked yet. I refuse to shop online so that may be part of it. I did have my credit card put on hold once or twice because I purchased some expensive items while on holiday in another province. Worst part was they never even notified me that they put my card on hold. I found out like 2 months later when I used the card next.

Ssi monitoring
License # monitoring
Address monitoring
Black market monitoring for my name being sold
I also have a mediocre credit score, on purpose
All major purchases done online are instantly text messaged for verification.
Use cash as much as possible.

 

If I pay a bill online with a card there's no problems but use of a card in any store over what a bank considers petty or normal use it gets shut down.

I've been asked where I normally use a card.. they ought to know where by now.

 

You do realize Lifelock was hacked, right?

 

Because the potential risk of loss is greater with cash. Credits can be issued instantly. A new card can be overnighted to the truckstop you're at by 10AM. Cash..you get that stolen, good luck getting it back, even if the police catch the guy.

Credit card you get a detailed statement of your spending history. Food, entertainment, etc. No need wonder if the cashier didn't give you a dime or two

The CEO of LifeLock has had his Identity stolen several times... I thought about getting LifeLock but the reviews for the company is terrible

 

Get a secured card from your bank if they offer them
Card is only good for the amount you set up. Can't get hurt for anything more.
Also you can freeze your credit for a small fee which also stops the credit bureaus from selling your info too this is the best option.

 

Freezing your credit makes it very hard to get loans.
