    YES, I believe so. This has almost nothing to do with the enviorment, it is a $$$$ maker. A way for the state and town to get $155-200 out of you.

    humm i have a cat that rides on the truck with me when my wife rides but the cat is at home with her, i also dont have a pet policy.. maby i could talk the terminal lady into predating my pet policy ..

    the only reason i dont have a policy at the moment is because its a $500.00 nonrefundable deposit, and i'm also responsible for damages on the truck due to pet dander.. for example if the evaporator goes out and they find cat hair in it then i would have to pay out of pocket for a new one.. but that aside

    In my writen statment i was thinking of saying something to the extent that They made Idiling Illegal but provided no Alternative for me to sleep in comfterable conditions and obtain a Good nights rest insted of poor rest creating dangerous traveling conditions for the motoring public because i didnt get Adaquate sleep.. And there was no idle Aire avilable.. and my company provides no Idiling Alternative....


    Also to Address the Generator issue ya that would be Legal its ok to run the Generator.. but if you use OPTI Idle then i would have been in violation if the engin ran longer than 5 minutes...

    I firmly believe that in a few years most states will have anti idling laws. Now is a good time to be in the APU business.

    there are more and more no idiling laws poping up all over the country these days.look at what walmart has done all of there stores and d.c.s are no idling now.and supposiedly they will ask you to leave if they find you idling.and i don't belive there are any exceptions to there rule.i don't know when the more trucking companys are going to wake up and do something to help us out.i drive for the big orange machine and all they can do is complain about idle time and over speed,but god forbid they try to do something to help.

    provide apu's or eliminate computers, a/c, heat, lights, televisions, etc from terminals and offices in trucking companies....

    I competely agree with that statment

    as for me ya i have Interstate Trucker i think maby its different but trucker is n the name.. but they handeled my last Ticket on New's Year Eve.
    got it thrown out of court because the cop in Allentown pa was a moron and didnt listen to me then my truck died when i pulled out of the place i was parked to receive the ticket and i competely blocked traffic for 2 hours...(alternator went bad) lol he wouldnt listen and was hell bent on writing me a $200.00 ticket for illegal U Turn...

    Maybe not a coincidence? lol, I don't want to start a conspiracy debate, because that's unlikely. I think these laws are coming out because they know that the generators exist.

    Would be nice for SNI to pick these units up, that pathetice Wabasto heater thing sux, no semblance of control with it. One night I woke up sweating 3 times, each time I had to turn it off, then woke up freezing!

    Oh, and they don't do A/C, so all we get for cooling is a fan. :smt100

    IC's get TriPak on their trucks when they purchase one. :smt065 Why is it so much to ask for these companies to include this on the company trucks. Wouldn't it be better to use 5 gallons a night (less on some models) rather than 55+?

    Oh, well, I hope these laws get that one good thing to happen at least.

    What if you set the cruise control while you are sleeping? Then you aren't idling anymore. I'm assuming that an idle is the RPM's at which someone has set the fuel injection system to hold. Therefore, anything over or under that RPM isn't idling anymore. Right or wrong?
