I forgot all about this post, sorry all.. I apologise to anyone who would want one...

Any way i got scheduled for another court date in December 21st then another court date on January 16th, 2007 and then they Finally ruled on my Idiling Case....

It was Reduced to a Parking Violation (Non Moving) and the Fine was $115.00

I am just glad i didnt receive a moving violation, i wont be idiling in new york any more i did how ever pass on the information to my Congressman and Senators for Tennessee with a Ideal and Figures, about making more companies want to install APU's also a suggestion that that if a State who has a Anti-Idiling law that they cannot enforce them on Truckers whose companies are based outside of said State,

I know that what i said sounds like it wont happen but you never know until you bring it up to your congressmen and women, their are vast ammounts of laws and when u bring one up to the front that does give them a chance to look at it read what you said and develop something...

    you gotta start somewhere

You raise a good point. Don't pay the ticket. Take the court date and trump their ridiculous anti idling laws with the potpourri of laws concerning inhospitable and dangerous work environments. They will try to argue that you weren't working, you were sleeping. You then rebut with, "Uh... no I was getting hassled by yet another police officer which has, of late, become an all to familiar part of my workday." You then hit them with the potpourri of laws concerning minimum housing standards.

Hey you think thats bad.... This fine:biggrin_2552: town of Mooresville, NC , like to give out citations for violating a vague noise / nuisance ordinance to truckers who for just starting up their equipment.

Its only $100, but, principal is more valuable than the cash.

I hope that this will force companies to install APUs, that would be nice. Hey, don't you get 5 minutes? Tell him you just turned on the truck 5 mintues ago and were just getting up to shut it off, lol.

That's not a bad idea at all.

Man, this ticks me off. Last I heard, some states' penalties for idling included prison.

PRISON. You can actually go to prison for idling. :biggrin_2551:

Stop the world, I want to get off.

That should be driver harassment and 'our' co. should get dinged!! They failed to keep me running and driving the desert SW!! Ready to turn trk in Mon morn after unld and tell them 'this drvr is done with this trk!' Hard to believe this mgmt knows anything about the trucking industry and drivers mental state! Guess they got enuf CDL mills to keep em happy!!:biggrin_25521::biggrin_2551:

While I support the overall purpose of these laws, there should also be another law requiring trucking companies to install APUs on their company trucks and subsidizing the installation of APUs on O/Os trucks.
Of course, that's a broad and vague idea but surely, it could be finetuned and implemented to keep us little guys comfortable, alert, and functioning well in our 'offices'.

What about a State like California though, where there is no APU made that meets their requirements? You would have to buy an APU, and then install a modification to it that they require, yet not company makes....

It is a #### shame that laws can be passed, when there are no realistic alternatives to help the laws be obeyed. It is pure ignorance.

I'm an animal lover and an admirer of nature. But eco-terrorists need to DIE! Sure. Throw us in prison with the rapists and thugs just for being human and wanting to stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. And while I'm at, why don't I plow over your a/c unit and see how long you last? Ya stupid fat cat, brain dead politicians.
