    #### happens?

    #### only happens when you put yourself in a position for it to happen.
You hit a "MONSTER POTHOLE" that destroyed your air dryer and oil pan?
Through no fault of your own?

I have been driving for 39 years and DAC has never even heard of me...

There are many drivers that unlike you, have run many, many miles without hitting anything.

These men are not "not reporting" they are "doing a good job" and "paying attention"...They are not so stupid as to say, "#### happens" because they know how to make #### not happen.

    Seriously?

Uhhhhhh......."Every veteran driver on the road has had at least 1 non preventable in their career. If they say they haven't, they're lying."

No wonder you hit the pothole.....:biggrin_25523:

No son you spit the words out of your mouth. It is your position that everyone has accidents. And that those whom do not are liars.

We have plenty of Multi million mile accident free drivers in this industry, They have those records because they do their job competently and completely every day

Here we go again with another pissing contest. You guys are worse than a bunch of girl scouts.

That happened after a delivery in Cleveland. I pulled out of a customer and made a right turn. Pothole was in the middle of the road. There were no street lights. Before you tell me I should have turned left, the customer was at the end of a cul de sac. You could only turn right to leave the customer without ending up in the woods.

I call BS. You mean to tell me you never blew a tire? Never had another truck hit you? Another car hit you? Never hit a tree branch? Never hit a deer or other animal that ran out in front of you? Never hopped a curb? Never had a rock or other piece of debris hit you? You can be as safe as you want. You can't prevent everything, and you don't have to hit anything to have a non-preventable. Not every company uses DAC either.

And by doing a good job and paying attention, do you mean 'speeding' and disregarding other traffic on the road? Every time I drive through metropolitan areas and construction zones when the posted speed limit drops to 50 or 45, I am literally the ONLY vehicle on the road that follows said speed limit. I am the ONLY vehicle (it seems) that follows warning signs, so don't lecture me on safety and paying attention while you blow the paint off the side of my truck speeding through a construction zone.

Just a FYI, the tire I blew was a retread.

See my above post. It's impossible to drive for long durations without being involved in a accident, whether it's a non preventable or not. It doesn't matter how safe you are. You can't prevent everything. When you park at a truck stop or rest area and go to the sleeper, you cant prevent the guy backing into the spot next to you from hitting your truck. If you tell me you were never in a single accident after driving for 30+ years, I'm not going to believe you. It doesn't need to be your fault. A scratch on the truck or trailer still counts as a accident, no matter how small the scratch is. Don't tell me you never put a scratch on a truck or trailer, or had one placed on the truck/trailer while you were driving it. Everybody has. No driver is that perfect throughout a career.

There IS a difference between an accident and an incident. You're running the two together.

I think I've listened to "trucking radio" for a grand total of perhaps two hours in a dozen years. Same stuff like another poster said....hell, half the time you can't understand what the drivers are saying.

And sports radio....a little Mike and Mike in the Morning sometimes. Other than that, give me the guys on WFAN in NYC any day...sports, knowledgable callers, and little if any "Playboy" radio.

If I wanted to hear a bunch of over-T'd wanna-be-jocks, I'll listen to any medium-market sports station.

According to your average safety manager, there is no difference. They're both considered accidents. Some are non-preventable, others aren't. Both show up on DAC if the company uses DAC.

Uh, no sir. One is an incident. The other is an accident. The difference is usually the dollars involved.
