The question is not if the law is enforced or not! There is a law and you could have been woke up! Personally if there is a law I try to obey it to my physical limits! and it is not always ok because my limits are ..... way from what normal human can endure!

I decide if I need to idle or not,not some stupid law that doesn't care about the trk drivers.Calif has been known to give tickets if the reefer is running and in the trkstop parking lot.If its comfortable outside,I may shut trk off but again I may not. Some of us leave it running because we find the idling noise and vibration soothing.Vilhiem Thanks this.

I do not understand why! I lost my 3 last jobs because I have a big mouth! Every time I found a better one in about a week. The only mistake I made was when I got my authority when I did not have enough money for the risk I was taking.
I do not think that young drivers should be sent to PA, NJ, NY at 32 c/mile! But that is what happens!
I remember my first loads when I was scared to back up in a yard as big as a stadium! The industry relies on young and unknowing in order to keep the prices down!
THAT IS NOT OK! -
Well I decided that I will not get health insurance even though Obama Care says I have to! I guess I will pay ####ing bigger taxes!
-
And come on! If you had the choice between no idling and idling..... same comfort! what would you choose?
-
I know it,the northeast is scarey for new drivers. The first week solo I had a Long Island load. Was'nt as bad as I thought because I found the cust right away but not every NE load was that easy.I do think hoever companies should pay more for certain places in the NE not just NYC.
-
Same comfort would be no idling of course but how is that possible. If companies don't want drivers to idle then have APUS in all their trks.
-
Most (not all) states have a caveat that allows for a sleeping driver
-
APU are more silent. If they are well maintained could be a solution but not money wise. I think they cost about the same in fuel and more to maintain! Idle policy are stupid! Idle laws even more! But probably they have been triggered by our behaviour (I mean truck drivers)
I don't know.... Maybe common sense will make some day part of our society! -
Excuse the pun but that sounds like "Idle Talk" to mePaul Geanta Thanks this.
