You didn't ask a simple question, though. You assumed weather that is perfect for you is perfect for everyone else. Then you went on to blame idling truckers as the cause of why companies and states restrict idling.
Reread your original post. If you had stopped at the first sentence, that would have been a simple question. But then you had to elaborate and show everyone it wasn't actually a question, it was you having an axe to grind. It was you wanting to make a statement and vent on the Internet.
I understand you being upset at the answers, but don't play the innocent victim here.

When I was a otr rookie my first 8 months I played by all of their rules and still got screwed out my safety bonus which was an extra 4cpm the next qtr. 1st qtr was for reporting an incident that included my scraping the rubber bumper on snow. Just needed screws to reattach bumper. 2nd qtr they were switching to tablets from Qualcomm and mine didn’t work the whole time they were aware of the situation thee entire qtr was told by multiple people in management I would get my bonus and did not. Month 8 we were sitting at the terminal on holiday and they were grilling… this is after them not getting me home cause they hadn’t had any loads heading back(supposedly) they sent me a hazmat preload that somebody was screaming back into town with and instead of delivering it dropped it to go home for their holiday.. assignment paid less than overlay pay for working all day.. and while me and 40 drivers all sitting with no work are enjoying some good barbecue. They called and were trying to sweet talk my drawers off cause “hazmat will keep the wheels moving atleast”, “I was the only driver available to take the load” and despite me telling them I wasn’t taking it they still called me the next morning and asking me what happened with that load… nothing was said but checked our app and funny stuff was going on with my bonus… from that day on my truck never shut off unless I was at home.. I stopped everytime I felt I could hit the multiplier at pilot also… Point is a lot of these companies screw the driver instead of being honest good companies. Great companies don’t have these problems

I have corrected your post, and left you these

Whenever someone starts running their mouth about idling I just explain that I have cylinder deactivation like the GM trucks that save fuel on the highway. My engine reduces down to ⅓ of a cylinder which is actually cheaper than running an APU.

I sure am glad the industry wasn't full of drivers like you 37+ yrs ago when I started cause I would of been pretty upset when I pulled in the truck stop and had my heart set on a chicken fried streak dinner but couldn't enjoy it because I had to sit at the BSer counter and listen to their crap.. because all the drivers like you were curled up in the fetal position sucking their thumbs whispering softly for their mommies in the booths..
I also see your a computer cowboy .. bet you wouldn't be so tuff if somebody was looking you in your teary eyesBoondock, Big Road Skateboard, Rubber duck kw and 1 other person Thank this. -
Whats truely funny and honestly pathetic about the whole thread though all jokeing aside is that most of us while annoyed at the hostile first post were being more or less respectful and trying to answer the question even if somewhat crassly and a little snappy because of it...... right up until the OP kicked it up a few gears.
So many ways he coulda defused the hostility or even turned it into a good thoughtful conversation especially as we were jokeing around and in a good mood. Instead......well he threw a snit and then got what he got.
Ah well.Rubber duck kw, Last Call, Boondock and 1 other person Thank this. -
With the escorting of the OP from the building due to his feeling that we’re all beneath him, there isn’t much reason to leave this open.
REO6205, God prefers Diesels and Boondock Thank this.
