Yes, some of them will ticket you for the apu engine. They'll leave the larger engine on their vehicle running the whole time, too.

The key word is IDLE, an apu or reefer running is not idleing

And CA has set it to where the APU engines must ALSO meet their stupid CARB rules so TK and others scrambled and met that challenge with CARP Compliant engines with the sticker on it! Now watch as the rest of America once again follows a broke arsed idiot state as if, "wow man CA is sooo kewll man!"

Aint it funny that CA has now set it where the trucks blamed for the brown air are now producing cleaner air than what goes into the engines!:biggrin_25514:

    Fratsit and andrew5184 Thank this.

A APU is nothing more than a generator. So in truth the state would have to have a law on the books pertaining to generators or mobile generators. The way they word it for idling a truck is any vehicle over 5tons. I do not know of any state issuing tickets for APU's.

Well, CA does have a law on the books for APU's! It's called CARB! All APU's must meet CARB rules by some date coming up and I don't have it as I'm off the road since Aug 09. But it was going into effect and you had to have the little sticker on the unit the same for believe it or not reefers!

You have to remember the socialist state of CA has it's own rules that the rest of America follows as the are just so freaking wonderful! CARB being one of them and soon to follow everyone will want APU's to be running clean too! Just don't hold your breath waiting for them! it's funny because CA was going to fine anyone who took a non compliant reefer into the state even if it had dry freight on it! Go figure but they being as broke as they are I can see them doing that! ROFLMAO!

Anyone with better info post it please! Mine is old and out of date as Ca doesn't matter to me now or in the near future if I can stay away !

Why fight to stay at a company like that. Much better companies around that don't treat you like an 8th grader. Time to move on, or you continue idling, get fired and screw up your DAC. If you have truck abondement on you DAC your career is over, stupidest thing a driver can do, I don't care how pissed off you are. Sure you will feel better, sticking it to the 'man'. Then the first application for a driving job you put in the 'man' will stick it right back at you.

Some companies list "Abandonment" even after you turned in the keys... the lyin' f_____ scumbuckets. Well, despite this f_____ recession, I believe the tide is turning... in fact, if it weren't for this recession, I believe these DAC scumbags and companies that treat drivers like ##### would have already gone the way of the dinosaur. They think it's some big f_____ joke, to put total bull$h!t down on a driver's DAC report. Well, I got news for ya, hand: that whole recession-motivated push to put two stinking f______ ####### with fake CDL-A's into every truck (making minimum wage with zero benefits) is about to go the way of the dodo. There is a HUGE BACKLASH (ask AZ Governor Jan Brewer) developing in that regard, not only against ######## but against the scum who hire them... you'll see more of that BACKLASH in the upcoming elections. The "status quo" went down the sh*tter with the ######## economy... look to pissed-off voters to backhand-b*tchslap underperforming incumbents and mediocre illegal-immigrant-favoring candidates. If ya think otherwise, perhaps you'd be interested in layin' a small wager?????????? If your finances don't allow such a wager, perhaps you should ask yourself why the f___ they don't, 10? :biggrin_25523:
