I just remembered that there is a small company that caters to rv ers for mail collection and forwarding. You can sign with them and they give you a Texas address. Check on the rv.net site. I'll look around and see if I can find something.
If I just pack up and head out there...

Since you will hit the Eagle ford shale area 1st you should try it. It is spread out but so much calmer and if you look closer to San Antonio, much cheaper and FUN!! I just saw in paper they are hiring quite a few companies and have a job fair coming up,(not sure when). Best of luck. -
I agree PO BOX is not the best answer. I think you have to have a physical address and show proof to get that set up in TX. You can't get a FedEx or UPS package delivered to a PO BOX. If you order some items online they will not ship to a PO BOX. You can sign up to have mail forwarded from a PO BOX but it is expensive, like $16/ month.
We made the mistake of getting a PO BOX in TX but got a private company (Mostly Mail) here in OK for our mail box. They text anytime a package arrives for us and they give us breaks or freebies when it comes to copies, faxes, etc. -
Well I did 939 miles today. I'm just outside Houston I'm going to crash for the night. I'll drive
the rest of the way tomorrow. I've got a couple of offers to rent a room in a house I may take them I'm not sure yet. I will keep you guys posted as to how the job hunting goes.warrior81 Thanks this. -
Look up some companies, make some phone calls. Companies area always look for good drivers. And by calling (talking to them) you can get a feel for how they are. Listen to how they respond to your questions will tell alot about their attitude towards drivers.
Remember, if you don't ask... you always have a no. So ask. -
On a high note! In a joking mood, as you travel don't pull into the Rest Stop and go around to the truck parking! You are not driving a truck yet, I wish you luck. I don't think you need to log a 30 min. break as you travel in your POV!

Sage travels.when you get to Houston check the north side off town there are motels along the freeway that are clean and cheap, without a lot of grasp going on. I used to stay at one for like 190/wk Bach about for years ago. Soon as I think if the name I'll message you.
