Ya know... My spouse worked for walmart as a cashier during a dark time in our financial life overall, and three things came up. First she became a gold star awarded cashier for her work. One of the best in the area for some time. Second all the money she ever made there (Over 1000 a month net... mind you...) went right back to good old Wally World in store buying...) and third just to take a sick day means to take on a process designed to seriously create a trail so that any layers of bosses, managers all the way to HQ at Fayetteville becomes aware that one cashier out of thousands in Arkansas has not gone to work today for her mandated shift because of a sniffle.

Any company that has grotesquely mutated beyond human common sense and decency in taking care of the workers that support them and their very existence and puts a sick employee under such a thumb and threat of firing because something happened to her out of her control missing a days work is a company that maybe should not be continuing to exist or thrive. But yet here we are. We have become a dinsosaur in our own life time. No value except when we dare call in sick with a sniffle. And then only as fodder for potential action designed to eliminate the job itself.

We needed that kick though, that 1000 plus dollars was rebudgeted and spending at wally got stopped right quick. And it wasnt long before happy days were here again. At Mr Wally's expense.

Fully agreed except for company drivers would need a law in place to keep the company from pushing them 24-7 w/o threatening of firing. 12 hr drive time 8hr sleeper break it up any way you want.

you are right because driver's will let them dispatcher push them instead of standing up and telling them to go to he**. there is to many companies out here to put up with that crap. you know. if you can drive the truck you should know when to stop not have a computer or dispatcher telling you .you need to run just my thoughts on it.
