I would probably do electrical too. I taught myself how to install an off-grid solar system on my home by teaching myself online for a few months. Prior to that I didn't know anything other than how to screw in a lightbulb. Along the way, came across some videos by Mike Holt, and enjoyed the topic.
Do you have any idea how long it would take to get through a curriculum to get certified? -
Mid 30s. Married. No kids. No stable career for either of us right now. Just some property investments abroad. Not sure I could be bothered to learn something else to make money for a living. As much as trucking sucked sometimes, I did feel like it was a good fit for me. I had a pretty useless bachelors degree, and a somewhat useful associates degree before that, albeit in an industry that is low-paying. Better for a hobby than a living.

Why would that be a requirement anywhere?

Do you have an A&P? IA? I know of two air tanker outfits that are hiring right now. Also, if you have a Commercial with any turbine time and a multi they sometimes move a guy into the right seat. That way the tanker has an onboard mechanic and you can stay busy when you're not flying. They'll usually pay for your type rating if you have anything on the ball.
They're both old school outfits but as long as a guy really knows his stuff and doesn't come across as a drama queen they'll give him quite a bit of slack.D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
Hauling high value freight might require it.

Why did you add this one in there?

Ag is not just crops and cattle. There are many trades that can be in that umbrella. Farriers, modern day black smithing, land management among many others.

Owner of the cargo being moved requires it and the cargo owner does the background checks on the drivers .
Usually it’s high value cargo , or cargo contains proprietary designs etc -
Lmao
