Go to the doctors people sheesh!

Today in Tallahassee FL's Flying J a driver died in his truck. He asked to swap his load because he was not feeling well. When the other driver asked if he should call an ambulance the man refused. A few hours later he went to sleep forever.

    Very sad. For all.

Yeah , and you might kill somebody else too like that White Line Express driver in Chicago . If you aren't well you shouldn't be behind the wheel . The best way to get better is to get treatment . The problem is with the high turnover rate some companies have drivers don't stay long enough to get insurance or the pay is so low they can't afford it .

    Any idea why he died?

Feeling sick can be any type of illness. Flu, cold, chills, nothing fatal.

Feeling like a bad headache, not good.
Feeling like a severe hearburn with arm pain, not good.
Feeling extreme tiredness with little exertion, not good.

There are many things to look at.

Subject to male denial. Most males will believe the pain in the shoulder or arm is associated with a pulled muscle. They do not put 2 and 2 together with the chest discomfort.

However, some people will get a sense of just not feeling right. No signs or symptons. I have lost some of them to the same thing.

this happens a lot more than people realize. in this country, we have a "pay or die" "healthcare" system. most people can't afford to survive a $100,000 heart attack. the other problem is the fear of getting fired if you let your employer know you can't do the job. although I think it's still illegal to take injured employees behind the barn and shoot them in the head.

We have 2 hospitals in our town.
They both have signs that state, this is not a quote,

If you cannot pay, we will stabilize you and provide care to allow transfer to another facility.

They get federal money, and reserve this right.

Says alot for the way health care is viewed.

My Dad worked with a guy who drove untill he was 89 years old. The reason he had quit was he was losing his memory. He drove the same route everyday for over 15 years, one day another driver saw his truck on the side of the road and first thing he thought was "Oh man, Smokey pass away on the side of the road" When he walked up to the truck Smokey was sitting there with his hands on his head, the other driver ask if he was ok, Smokey had to ask him where he was and directions to where he was going. He drove the same run everyday. He just loved driving trucks and hung on a little to long. He was lucky he did not hurt himself or others. They just don't make them like that old guy anymore, He passed away less then a year latter. You can take truck away from an old driver, but that truck was his life.

Another one of my dads friends new a guy that passed away in a rest area in California due to a heat stroke, you know how that goes, don't idle your truck when its 112 outside. I would like to find the first person who even came up with the idea of the no idle law and put him in a metal box in the desert for a night.

When I had cancer I had to pay upfront for everything it cost me an arm and leg... always stay insured that 100 bucks is WAY better then the 30000 sheesh

But even still most hospitals WILL take and treat in emergency situations like a heart attack.
