When dealing with information on DAC that you want removed, PROVIDING it's not LEGIT info, first contact HireRight and file a claim or complaint. What HireRight does is send the information to the company and then starts the clock. The company has 30 days to reply or the information is automatically removed.

If the company confirms the information, then your next step is to contact the company itself and speak to whoever in safety or HR regarding it. A lot of times, if you deal with things the right way and keep your cool, you can get things changed with the company, depending on what it is.

If that doesn't work, then your final option is to contact a lawyer. Drop $100 for a lawyer to send the company a legal letter stating intentions to sue if the information is not removed.

Again, this hinges on whether the information is rock solid or just something to stick the driver with. If you had an accident or incident, that information is likely not going to be removed. If you were termed for a motorist complaint or something, that's one of those gray areas that you can fight and usually win.

You also need to keep in mind that any company (driving and non-driving) you have worked for in the past three years, the company you are trying to go to work for has to fax for D&, whether it's on DAC or not. So be aware there is more than just DAC to deal with.

It's not DAC; it's the company that reported it. DAC/HireRight/USIS is nothing more than the middle man and the info repository. What info is in the repository is decided on by the company. Read my last post. It tells you exactly how the process works.

HireRight Customer Service Number, if I recall, is 800-322-9651.

I've heard of drivers complaining to get something removed from their DAC to the companies before. Then when they reviewed the DAC it just states company policy violation, and after a little research they found the person doing the employment verification would put down notes like, at fault accident, multiple HOS violations, etc. Be sure you're placing the blame on the right party.

Dacfix.com this company is located in dallas tx. and charges about $120.00 to correct false information they will also submit any comments related to your employment on your dac . Ive used this company a couple times and have no complaints.

Except that they charge you $120 to do something you can do for free in 5 minutes or less.

Its also important to make sure the information companies are using to deny future employment is actually coming off of a DAC. I almost made a huge mistake and confronted my former employer because I was denied employment elsewhere because of "information gathered by hire right." After contacting Hire Right directly, I learned there was no negative information being reported about me. The reason for my denial of employment stemmed from two seat belt tickets within the last five years, a violation of some obscure company policy hidden deep in corporate bible. Hire Right also reports things like MVRs, which have nothing to do with past or present employers...

The best thing to do BEFORE you apply is request a copy of your DAC report, just like your credit report can get it for free once per year and I would recommend it to see if any false info has been reported.
