If you are a one man show, just stay sole proprietor, if you are owner and driver the liability aspect of a corporation. Is nil

Some like to go with S corp to save on self employment taxes. But then filing for S corp is a whole different ballgame.

I am a LLC being taxed as a sole proprietor....not liable.

You think he does not know what he is talking about when it comes to trucker taxation??

I don't think the carnival barker knows a whole lot about trucking period, he's a great salesman though. He has mad sales skills. Why are you an LLC taxed as a sole proprietor? As a single truck o/o, the only advantage to being a Corp or LLC is getting taxed as an s Corp. There is zero liability separation when you're the driver. Anyway have fun learning.

    Ruthless and Terry270 Thank this.

As a non s corp LLC your company is a disregarded entity without employees it doesn't really benefit to be an LLC as with any legal action you better believe the opposing party will come after you, your company, and anyone else they can think of.
Good things to figure out before you go do them.
I'm an LLC, as I had grand plans of expansion. Til I got to know more truckers n realized it wasn't likely to make itself worthwhile for my end.

The reason for forming a LLC is to protect my house and cars......I am aware they will take my truck and business if something bad happens.

It's not going to protect a single thing when you'rethe driver! Whoever told you that didn't know what they were talking about. You'll be personally named in any lawsuit as well as your company. That's why I asked why you did it in the previous post if it wasn't for the s Corp tax advantage

I did it because I was told (by many....including O/O's from this board) that was the way to go unless I start making big money then S corp would save me taxes.
