ifta problem with company

What do you mean by they are deducting extra and losing your money? What they're doing isn't correct, but how are they losing your money?

Is this your IFTA account or are you driving under theirs?

 

Buy as much fuel as you can from duty free...

That is a very important question. It's what I was going to ask. I don't know if this is true or not, but Most bigger companies figure IFTA across a fleet average, or so I'm told. Not by each individual truck itself. This can affect you poorly. Sounds to me like they are bc they are just running fuel reports against mileage reports to figure IFTA company wide. They don't and won't take the time to figure in by hand your cash fuel purchases. You need to find out. If this is what they are doing, you need to get your own IFTA license. Also, if you are smart, you should NEVER owe to IFTA. Always get a refund. Better to pay for it now and get refund at end of quarter than to owe at end of quarter. I usually get $40-$140 back every quarter.

 

Sounds like it's their problem if they get audited. You're doing what you're supposed to and submitting everything to them. What they do with that is out of your control. Worst case is they get shut down and you need to find a new company to lease onto.

 

Are they giving you whatever discount the company gets or are you being charged the cash price? You can save easily 10k a year if you have a decent card ...a lot of companies dink owner ops around and keep that money ....
