I was going to take my cdl test soon. The trailer I am using the abs light comes on and off frequently depending on the day. The trailer is a Wilson hopper bottom. Is this going to be an issue if it comes on during the test? It’s just the trailer not the truck. I’m just going to use this for farm grain hauling. I’m sure it’s a sensor that needs adjusting but hate to go take the test and fail because of that. I don’t see abs on the pretrip check list that we are now allowed to take with us. Thanks!

Yes it is a problem. ABS not working is a violation even though trucks drove for 100 years without ABS.

In addition IL is super strict. I'd be surprised if a brand new truck & trailer with no defects passes the pre-trip on the first attempt. IL wants the EXACT wording, not similar meaning words, not different names of components. The. Exact. Wording. On. Pre-trip. Guide. In. IL. Manual. No deviation.

If you’re doing it in IL go to Dekalb DMV, most of the dmvs in the city limits have a bunch of degenerate bipolar cheeseburgers working there. Make sure abs light isn’t on because they will check it 100 percent.
